I saw a new "Habitrail X" habitat recently: it had whacky darker colors and some variations to the SS including an outside wheel. Ever see it?
I have two SS's, with three add ons each: outpost, observatory, and explorer. I'd add more but there is no room with over 20 bins/tanks/cages here. I think they all have very nice habitats; I should photograph Rainy and Blanche's 25-30 gallon bins which I think are very hamster-friendly.
What's the difference between a Habitrail Mini and the SS (or Safari) other than what you mentioned? I think it is slightly smaller with no second level thingee inside the main cage. You have add-ons? Digweed is a Syrian, right?
Is that Carefresh Ultra?? I've never seen it before. Looks good.

wow! you asked so many questions! OK....Digweed is a dwarf a syrian would never fit in the HabitraL Mini (made especially for mice and dwarf hammies) This IS the Dwarf forum silly. Aside from the bars being closer together and the colors. They have redesigned the add ons and tubes. all of the tubes are smaller in diameter than the regular and they have little bumps on the inside for the traction. The tubes use the same size connectors so you can connect your regular Habitrail stuff if you want. The add on's are all basically the same as the SS ones, the observatory and all that only it's scaled down. That would be Carefresh Ultra, it's the best and all i'll use. Th hamsters love it and i find it way better than regular Carefresh, Plus it brightens the cage up, makes it cheery you know. My walls are gun metal gray so i think that is all the gray color we need in here. did that answer all those questions Tom? kim

>> This IS the Dwarf forum silly. << D'OH!! I always wondered how Digweed was able to flip as well as he did in that photo: But now I am confused. . . aren't dwarfs supposed to be kept in pairs or groups? Either it is too new to be on an online catalog, or it was really the Super Pet CritterTrail X I saw. That I did find at Petco.

I think you were probably just talking about the Crittertrail x. I hate crittertrail cages, they are cheaply made.
Dwarfs CAN be kept in pairs or groups but they don't have to be. Mine would fight if they were together, and they do fine by themselves.

Yeah it is really similar to Habitrail SS I have 2 Habitrails, one SS and one Safari. My two dwarfs have heaps of fun in the SS... ;D

Mine would fight if they were together, and they do fine by themselves. The one CT2 cage I have came with Princess when some despicable people abandoned that two year old beauty almost a year ago at the pet store. As I've related elsewhere on this site, after six lovely months she passed in September and I got Prince, also a banded sable long-hair. But he went nuts chewing on the bars, so I put Maggie in there (another rescue) and Prince went into a large bin. I have read so many stories of dwarfs fighting, and even seriously injuring or killing each other, that I am surprised more people don't keep them singly (if that does not make them lonely as would occur with most gerbs).

Hey, is the Habitrail Mini Actually smaller than the original Habitrails, or just made more so for small hammies and mice with the same cage size??
