[glow=lightblue,2,300]As some of you might know, my hamster gave birth sometime in February. The remaining babies were a boy and a girl, and one of my friends was wanting 2 dwarves, so she decided on the mother and the daughter(Spice and Chip). I have Sugar and Dale, but they often quarrel. Should I prepare for another cage, or is this just a father-son thing?? Dale leaps on Sugar and a fight ensues, but it is silent and no blood is drawn. Is this just a mock-fight??[/glow]

They could be just play fighting or it could be a dominance fight. You know where the father is trying to show the son he's top hammie. My dwarves did that too, just try & separate them. If you can't, then let it take its course. But if you do see blood, please separate them & don't put them back in the same cage again! Hope that helped!

Hamsters82 is right - keep an eye out for blood. If you see any, you'll have to separate them for good.
