Sorry for double-posting an image, but I wanted to know if my dwarves are Campbell's or Winter Whites, and what their colors are called? I'll try to get some clearer individual pics tonight. They're all varying shades from grey to brown. The darkest one is all brown, while the lightest one is a very, very pale sandy color with grey.

Well, Winter Whites, are white: Just kidding. Actually, there is a subtle difference. >> Unfortunately, unless you have actually seen them side by side it can be very difficult to tell the difference between these two varieties. A Winter White (Siberian) has three stripes—the dorsal stripe and one on each crescent (on the side where the belly color meets the top coat). When the "normal" color Winter Whites get their winter coat, they turn white with their three stripes showing. Unfortunately, they don't always get their winter coats in captivity. The Winter White is also a little larger than the Campbells with a blockier body and slightly thicker fur. Their eyes are larger and the ears are less conspicuous. The normal color of the Winter White is also darker than the normal color of the Campbells—which tends to be more of a greyish black rather than the tan shade of the campbell, furthermore the belly color is brighter. Once you have seen both varieties it is fairly easy to distinguish the difference. << That's from Hamsterific.

I think they all are cambells because winter whites are very dark brown and turn more white in the winter.
Buy most of yours are more like a tan/grey then a brown

Thanks for the advice guys! Another forum I'm on has suggested that they might be hybrids... Oh, and I now only have four I came home from work and one had passed away :/ He was the first one to come to me when I bought them, and he was the darkest out of the lot of them. He was also the smallest, and I noticed a little bite wound on his back last night. I also noticed that he was sleeping a lot more than the others, so I think perhaps he wasn't very well from the start. Poor little mite. On the up side, I have given my remaining four names, finally. Pewter is silvery white with grey stripes, and loves to live in tunnels. Nutmeg is the biggest of the lot and also quite a bully - I'm going to have to keep an eye on him/her to be sure she's not hurting anyone. Java is the darkest of the lot with a lot of brown, and he likes to run around like a looney! He's got so much energy - hence the name; 'Coffee' sounded a bit too plain for him. And finally, there's Jack Sparrow. I called him that because he just loves to be held and is always looking for an adventure by clambering up my hand and arm whenever I open the cage. And, of course, Jack Sparrow has to be the sexiest pirate ever

They look Campbells to me. Our Harriet had seven babies and one of them looked like yours & ours were Russian Dwarf Hamsters or in other words Campbells. So I'm betting yours are too. They look similar. I'm not good with colors sorry. I just say this one is tan, white, etc...you get the picture.
