After waiting what seemed like forever [ok, it was only 2 weeks ] I finally have my mice. I'm soooo happy I actually squealed when I saw them because they're so teeny tiny and absolutely adorable. They're both pretty friendly, the little one [now named Benjy Mouse] will come onto my hand and the slightly bigger one [Frankie mouse] is a little more wary but he'll come and sniff at my hand. It's early days yet but I think they like their new home. Benjy has discovered the wheel already [finally someone to appreciate at least one of the 6 wheels I have, my hamster certainly doesn't ] and wow he can go so fast! . As for the smell, they do smell a bit, but only if I sniff in the cage.. And y'know, it really isn't as bad as people make out. In fact I find it quite endearing.. smells kinda farmy [at least I know what I mean!]. Hopefully I will keep you inundated with tales of my new little ones

Sounds great! Photos soon, we hope. Keep us posted on al this mice stuff as I would like to know a lot more about how they are as pets. Can they be handled or do they panic? (Not your new ones, but mice in general). The best kind of wheel. Socialization: only two females together, and more guys (as with gerbs)? Life span, diseases, etc. All that kind of info. There is a chance - in the distant future - I might get some as space permits; being so small a ten gallon tank would be plenty big.
