I was just wondering how many of us own mice. I have ten mice. I've always loved mice, even though my family has not been too fond of them! Here's my list:
Girls:
Anastasia - PEW Felicity - PEW Louise - cocoa satin (yes, it's a color!) Brooke - cinnamon satin Leila - cinnamon satin Victoria - longhaired satin fawn
Boys:
Dobby - golden agouti satin Rees - golden agouti satin Frito - yellow satin Tiki - longhaired satin poor broken black

I don't have any mice, though I do love watching them.
Wasn't there another Frito out there, somewhere...?

I have 11 Syrians, 3 dwarfs, 12 gerbils, and one rabbit. I may have two degus in a few weeks, and might get some guinea pigs if the degus don't come in. So, I am pressed for space! But I would be very interested in learning about mice, for possible future use. Would you consider telling us the "mice basics" about their care and types and all, and putting it in the Care sticky thread in this forum?

I have 2 male mice [they are housed seperately now as Frankie was picking on Benjy]. Unfortunately, Frankie is very very sick The vet said there's little chance he'll recover, but I'm trying my best to prove him wrong.

I have no mice either, although I did have a cute visitor in my apartment a while back.
I hope Frankie proves the vet wrong too. How old is he now?

I had mice. All that were left suddenly died. Still puzzling. I had 11 when I first established my colony of females. 7 had been rescued and were nine monthes of age when I got them, I wasn't expecting them to live much longer than a year or so. 4 I got young. I always wondered if the remainder of the colony was scared to death. Cognac

This winter has been so difficult. Poor Frankie - it's never any easier when you know they're time is almost up. Will you be able to get a new friend for Benjy? I hope the cat turns up soon.

I don't tend to bother with memorial posts to be honest.. not because I don't care, but because I say what I have to say when I bury my deceased pets..
Frankie and Benjy were split up after a couple of weeks as they were fighting, introducing another male would probably end up with the same thing.

What colors are they?
I have many photos up in this forum in old threads of my mice, many deceased now.
Right now I have dozens in half a dozen tanks, and there are other "free range" agouti mice that have escaped and bred! I catch them and release them - all described in my many threads in this Mice forum. I'm sure you will find them interesting reading, especially the rescue stories.
Admittedly, the males can be smellier and messier than the females.

I have six GPs: Jessica and Ophelia; Chris and Frosty; Sam and Lester (a big furry guy who looks like a dustmop - photos soon).
I never had the opportunity to even see degus or find someone who had them. Same with jerboas and jirds.
