In June of 2004 I got some lovely fancy mice from a reliable breeder. You can see them HERE and RIGHT HERESadly, all have passed except Pugsy. But a few days ago I got her some new friends from the same breeder. Meet them. . . Here is KALAMA ZANTA DAMITA

Here is one of the tanks of the breeder. Hey mice experts, how many different types of mice can you find in there?? Nine, ten? Here is my own tank for them:

Hey, please read the story in Other Pets about Charlie the dog.
I am recovering nicely from the worst Summer EVER. More later. . .
Until then. . .
FOR THOSE WHO ASKED. . . all these are mice, the same breed - Mus musculus. They are all bred to produce the vast variety of types and colors. For those who want to know which mouse is which, I got this from the breeder today: >> The last mouse Damita, the smallest one with the big ears, is a cinnamon. Cinnamon is the name for a chocolate agouti mouse. If you blow on her fur, each hair is chocolate underneath with yellow/red on the tip. It is hard to see because the chocolate and red are close in color. In an agouti mouse each hair is black tipped with yellow. Agouti is the color of a wild mouse. The oldest girl Kalama, who is chubbier, is the red, and the other who is shiny and has a slight wave (Zanta) is the satin curly red. <<
