I walked into the pet store I know (and they know me) to pick up a young female gerbil for an introduction. Done. While there I was offered a free young guinea pig! She had been brought into the store by some people who found her, abandoned, wandering around in a public park!! I would like to take a baseball bat to the people who did that to her. She was covered in insect bites, but generally OK. I got her home, washed her, treated the bites with antibiotic creme, and introduced her to Lily and Chip (neutered). They seem to be getting along fine together. Now I have a herd! Her name is Adrienne. She came with a free bag of GP food and alfalfa. Keeping a local pet store you know and trust (and who know you) aware you are interested in rescues is always a good thing, so long as you are also a regular customer! Photo moved - see Memorial Gallery in signature below.. RIP

she's cute.. I do hope you quarantined her for the standard 3 weeks before letting her near your current pigs though..

Funny I didn't think of this when seeing it in another forum. The GP's eyes, are they from the shot of the camera or does your Adrienne have cateracts?
Oh & good job with rescuing her!

"Cataracts"??
Sigh. No.
But you can tell why I am busy. I also posted a Happy Birthday thread to my oldest gerbils.
