Sadly, I found Jennifer dead 24 hours ago. She was normal in every apparent way the day before, frisky, eagerly eating, and enjoying her apple bits. She did not come out for her food so I was worried; I found her soft and lifeless behind an igloo. He friendm Chip, will get a new friend soon. He is a neutered male so I suppose gender does not matter for a new GP. I got Jennifer Sept. 1st, and I knew she was preganant. I posted before about the lovely Abbys born on Labor Day, Sam and Leslie. I thought she'd be around for years more. She could not have been old, unless someone gave her to the pet store at an advanced age. I saw no symptoms, before or after, although she may have lost a little weight in recent weeks. Maybe. But she ate well and eagerly. Any ideas what happened? I will post more in the Memorial forum tomorrow.

Awwww. I'm so sorry to hear that You must be devastated! Sometimes things are just unexplained. Perhaps a stroke like Princess? Heat attack? Anurism? I really don't know... but RIP Jennifer. What a pretty girl she was. And look at the beautiful boys she leaves behind.

She really looks heavier in this photo from four months ago. I guess for some reason she very very slowly lost weight despite eating and eating. (?) Odd.

So today having discovered that no rescue piggies (singles) were available, I got Jessica at a pet store: Here she is with Chip: They do not live in that bin, obviously. And they are getting along fine.

Thanks. The memories (and her sons) remain. I will miss so much watching her digging frantically for her apple piece that Chip would steal, and she'd grab the second one. She loved her apple. The pet store person I got her from had no answers either.

aww df im sorry i lost my beloved piggy Fluffy recently as well. It was awful her sister Fudge let out this horrid cry when i tried to take her out of the cage. Fluffy was old though, its possible she just had some sort of genetic defect, petstores are not known for thier good stock at times you know SO sorry about her loss but now this other lovely girl gets a chance at a great home:) Those little ones look familiar, are you on petshub as well by any chance?

Thanks. I've been on a number of places. But petshub has no moderators, so I got sick of the nonsense. BTW, Chip, in the photos above, died a few weeks ago.

Two days earlier he seemed normal. Then lethargic. Then gone. A shame. They were both rescues. if you care, you can easily find the photo I posted of the flyer that had him and his friend Lily, looking for a new home. I saw it on a pet store. They were my first GPs. They came with a cage and house and bottle. Seems like yesterday when I first saw them. Chip was neutered. Lily died, then another albino, Jennifer died (something about those albinos). Now Jessica (B&W abby) is alone - for now. Jennifer, who I got when pregnant (I knew it) gave me two gorgeous brown and white abby boys, Sam and Leslie. They are great favorites of mine.
