Is that a hedgehog? Cute little thing. They are illegal here in NYC.

They're not illegal here in BC. I see them in the petstores all the time. So, one can't have a hedgehog in NYC... but.. what about that guy on the news that had the tiger in his apartment? ;D

Oh so small.
I was wondering through some pets for sale in NJ & I saw stuff like Caracal, Wolfdogs, Kouwaiti (sp), and others that should be in the wild, not tamed.

Illegal!

Big can of worms opened there. In Animal Rescues the woman who helps run that group here in NYC is big on reptiles. She has big issues with the Humane Society as they think reptiles should NOT be pets. Comments?

We had an iguana named Tequila in our biology classroom in high school. She got LOTS of attention and thrived on it. She loved coming out to play with the students and enjoyed hanging out on people's backs as they walked around classroom and the school.
This is really the only experience I've had with reptiles.... a couple of friends have had turtles.. and oh yes, one friend had a Chinese Water Dragon. All were fabulous pets.
I think that as long as their needs are met, they can live happy lives with their caretakers.

That pulchritudinous rescue woman cited above told me one cool night she woke up with her iguana in bed with her - he was seeking some heat. Or maybe he was horny? "Kouwaiti"?
