Havix escaped magically sometime in the past 48 hours. I was away yesterday moving furniture for my brother and his fiance, and didn't get a chance to play with her. Today I got home from late work and found she was nowhere to be found in her cage/tank.
There was an opening beyond her reach that she would have had to climb sheer glass to use, but I'm sure she managed it, as there is no other possible escape route.
I have bait out on the floor -- hoping she takes it.
Say a prayer for me -- I just want to find her healthy and safe.

I think Havix needs the prayers.
I have had precious few escapes here over the past half year despite over two dozen critters, but in the past when they did they invariably came to the sound of my voice, or with two gerbs they simply came up to me. Petey came up to the sound of my voice when a pup and here for one week having escaped by gnawing a hole in a bin.
Anyway, in their early days I tried to flush them out by making noise and poking around in one area and leaving noisy paper in another. I listened for the sound of movement.
Best of luck.

Havix has not yet become dependent-minded -- she still regarded me with some suspicion. She has not responded to my voice or to the little noises that always brought her nosing out from her hidey hole when she was in the cage/tank.

Aww...I hope you find Havix soon! Don't worry I'll say a prayer that she'll return to you. Our 2 dwarves have escaped on us but luckly they were too smart b/c one just stayed in his cage where the opening was & one ran around the cage. Thank God they didn't know where to go!!! Hope you find yours!!!

It was odd that Petey, so new to my place, came to the sound of my voice; it would have been tought to go get him in a big cluttered room. Petey is the chubby cream spot who has always been a little diffident. I've posted photos. As I wrote elsewhere, the love the smell of peanuts and scrambled eggs. Leave a whole bag of peanuts out (remove bag!) out the floor, and scrambled eggs in another, and sit their quietly. I'd have a stampede here if they were all loose! They can also get inside the bottoms of upholstered furniture and hid in that - a typical hiding place for them.
