Havix turned up when roommate Mike got home from work, sitting in her wheel in the cage I had left open for her on the floor.
Maybe she just got tired of exploring and went for the familiar.
Maybe she was drawn by the dollop of PB sitting on top of some sunflower seeds and yogurt drops in the food bowl in the cage.
Maybe she was thirsty after three days exploring and came back for the water bottle hanging in the cage.
She is home, and with some safeguards on my part, will never be away again.
She has lost weight and body mass -- she has some loose folds of skin around her belly area. She is hydrating and eating a lot -- more power to her.
Feels like a great weight is off my heart. It's amazing how even the spiteful, hateful pets wriggle their way into my heart.
If she shows any signs of odd or unwell behavior, I'm taking her into the vet's tomorrow -- but right now she just seems thirsty and hungry.

That's good news! You remember when Zenobia broke out of her space station. And I mean BROKE out popping the hinge of the explorer. She vanished for a day; I put Hypatia in her SS. As I was about to begin a major serious search I heard her trying to break back IN to her explorer, with Hypatia inside trying to get at her. It was quite a sight. Zenobia just went for a day's sojourn and then wanted to return home to the familiar smells. I wonder where Havix was all that time. . .

I hope she won't escape again, too. We'll see.
When she got to her cage yesterday, she loaded up her pouches as far as they'd go with food -- it tripled the size of her head, looked nasty.
She didn't let it out for a few hours, until she was accustomed to the cage again.

Fantastic news! It's amazing how much worry and heartache such little critters can cause!

Indeed! She alternates between POing me, causing grievous bodily harm, and breaking my heart.
