Sadly, all my dwarfs have passed on; they were rescues, that last six. I have had no opportunity to rescue more, and that is just as well owing to space limitations here.
Syrians. I have two sisters one living in a CT2, and the other in a tank as she is an amazing gnawer who went through the side of that now repaired CT2, and through a heavy bin. I have three guys in another room, including the beautiful Butterscotch, whose color looks like slightly coppery butterscotch candy.
All these are rescues, although Butterscotch I actually bought after someone dumped him in a pet store despite his lovely color.
Except for the sister in the CT2 they all live in bins.
They are all doing well.
Photos, new ones, of everyone soon. And not just the hamsters.

i will never understand people. why is it that they get a pet (of any kind) and then when things to be a little difficult for them they just dump them off or totally ignore them?
why get a pet at all if you dont have the time or patience to take care of them? that just really upsets me!

I think we all here feel this way. I read some of the rescue stories and am just appalled at the history of some of these poor animals--and furious at the irresponsibility of the so-called owners.

BTW, animal abandonment is a crime in most places. It is here in New York. Always notify the police and ASPCA if you know of such occurring.
