Got him yesterday. He will be a friend for Max, the blue. Never had a hairless before. Will try and intro them today. Telly was given that name for reasons I think obvious. He was exploring/hiding in an almost empty jar of peanut butter, so he still has a little on him. In one photo you can see his tongue as he cleans himself. I think he is cute. If you don't, too bad! ;D

When you mentioned Telly in the other thread I thought, "After Savalas?" Didn't know then that he was hairless. Great choice of name! Does he like lollipops? He is cute in a different sort of way. Did he get all that PB off of himself or did you have to help with that?

He licked it off. Ever see the first "Cape Fear"? With Robert Mitchum? Telly had horseshoe baldness then, like Ed Koch. After that he shaved it all off. He was reputed to be a major hero in WW II with the OSS operating in the Yugoslavia-Greece area. He'd never talk about it. Actors such as him, and Lee Marvin and such, I miss very much. (Marvin was also a major hero in WWII in the Pacific with the USMC). Telly is under my shirt right on my right shoulder keeping warm. I've been busy today, and I am tired. So I will into him to Max (another clever name!) in a few hours in a new clean tank. I have no lollipops but he just ate a piece of vanilla wafer. >> He is cute in a different sort of way. << Indeed.

To my surprise, Max has grown more than I figured: he is twice the size of Telly. I put their stuff in the tank (houses and tubes) and they are exploring. Max just got stuck in Telly's smaller wooden house. I hope he learned his lesson - we shall see how smart he is. The rats interact OK, and wrestle a bit. I hear no noise, and it looks harmless. They will run into each other, "box" a little, and then go their ways. It can't be serious as Max is way bigger. The tank is newly cleaned; no old smells. Telly has stopped hiding with another rat in there. Seems more confident. They are on the floor in front of me now as I watch football, so I can see everything. They will be moved to larger quarters in a few days. They are in the big house now chatting amiably.
