Ani, Kyoto and PitStop moved this weekend into the revamped pen that Ani & Bo shared. I built a new and larger Condo for them, and so far it seems to be liked, though Pitters is not 100% with the new change yet. My Little Trio I had to put Pitters up there b/c he doesn't like being up high on things, he will not snuggle on a couch or bed with you, he will bite and scratch till he can get away. (Though he did this weekend with me for 15 mins or so! a record!) #47# #47# Mommas Boy (lol) #47# #47# I still have some modifications to do, I want to cut some of the divider away and put some mesh over it so the trio can see Baby & Bubba their neighbours next door. That is sort of the problem with this cage, they cannot 'see' everything going on outside the cage like they could the smaller one they were in before. The old cage is going to get taken down, I am going to add a table to hold Bruces cage, and under the table will be bunny play area and toys, so expanding the free run area

That rug they are on looks super comfortable. How long does it last?

All just recycled carpet, I have a big roll an old room mate didn't need when he re-did the floors. I cut it up when i need new pieces. It lasts pretty long if they don't pee all over it or chew it up. Really depends on the bunnies, but years sometimes.

Those are very nice Andrea and I'm sure your bunnies are loving it! They look like they have the best house of all bunnies out there! Your black/white bunny reminds me of a bunny we have a Paws named Cookie. Except Cookie's ears flop over. This is a bit off topic, but still pertaining to rabbits, do bunnies just box with their front legs over territory? Boo, a white rabbit, will do this to me every so often and I was just wondering why he does this. Thanks!

Maybe he just likes to fight!
I have never seen this, but it must be cute.

Not if he gets you it isn't cute as he can scratch you. I box him back. I thought I heard once that it's over territory; he used to do this but stopped after awhile. Maybe it's because he's in a smaller pen now because he has to stay in the feed room to be out of this heat. When it's cooler out, he'll return to his hutch. All three of them will.

>>We are a band that plays good music for you.<< The band's name is Boxing Rabbits. On Facebook. >>In this corner, weighing in at 4 pounds... Boxing is when a rabbit shifts its weight to its hind legs and uses it front paws to dig at you. This is a defensive measure meaning that you are to back off. Once again, they are only stating that they don't like your behavior and not you personally. When they do this, make a loud noise and say "No Dig!" Be consistent and just as quick to offer praise as soon as they stop the behavior. Evaluate their play time outside of their housing and the actual size of their housing. More time out to exercise and/or a larger living space could possibly be warranted. Another route to consider is getting your bun a friend. As stated above, rabbits do so much better emotionally and physically when they have a friend to share their world with. Bored rabbits often act out in many different ways.<< rabbithaven.org/boxing-grunting/They also grunt when mad. So don't get them mad. I am adding this link to a behavior sticky thread.

Ani lunges, boxes and grunts LOL Her ears are 'helicopter' lol... she is probably a Holland Lop mix, hence her ears are almost floppy.
When Ani does that to me, I put my hand over her head and push her down, dominating her. If she takes off to run i pinch the fur on her bum, like a rabbit would to bite at her. And then I will stomp my foot, and turn my back to her, as rabbit do that to each other as well.
