Civic my very old and very last Gerbil passed away last week while I was on vacation. I sort of expected it as he was looking pretty crummy, we believe he may have had cancer as he had a constant swollen paw/leg.
Civic was probably 3+ years old, a Burmese I got from a friend for my Birthday. Civic came to me with his brother Honda a pied burmese, who passed away over a year ago.
Civic loved Peanuts and Sunflower seeds. Whenever I gave the Degus their Peanut treat, Civic came out of his house waiting for one too.
So I am gerbil-less now, and totaly ok with it. I'm not going to be taking in any new gerbils anytime soon.
Rest in peace Civic, you were a good gerbil. Run free and healthy with the rest of the gang over the bridge.

Andrea, I'm very sorry about Civic passing away. I remember you told my in a pm that you were concerned about going on vacation because you were worried that you might come home to something bad. I know how much it hurts to lose a little furry baby so you have my love and neverending hugs. I also hear that peanuts and sunflower seeds are abundant over the rainbow bridge. Rest in Peace dear Civic, after three years you've earned it baby.

A sad milestone for you, Andrea. Rest peacefully, Civic. Just be sure to share those peanuts with Honda!
