As I posted, the Habitrails and Crittertails have been retired. The last of the former was today. I only have one (Syrian) hamster and he is fine in a tank, with stuff. These things are too fragile with cats around; the tubes were never easy to clean as dwarfs would poo in and pee in them. Plus, the connector joints never seemed that secure. Maybe the newer Ovo habitats are.
"Nighthawk", a spiny mouse, was one of the males living alone. he was in a dark closet too much as a protection from cats. So i called him that, shortened to "hawk". His tank is now eight feet away and he is in his coconut shell house.
As the Habitrails and Crittertails were given to me by nice people helping after Rainy (Syrian) had babies early in 2003 (I kept them all, as most know). Some others came with rescued beloved critters, such as Princess, later occupied by Maggie another rescue (see the memorial gallery link below in my signature for the story). So, they have sentimental value.
"Hawk" will be fine in the tank.
I need to take more photos of all. And will.
