For quite some time I was watching in the big finch cage inside a hanging nest box a little one hatch and grow, and get bigger and bigger. The chick looked alert when I shined a little light in there to see. I gave the other birds nesting material. Today, no more chick! So, I looked around for one with a black beak - the sign of a juvie! Yep! Flying around normally having joined the rest! The nest now has about five eggs in it. We shall see how it goes!

Hard to take photos through the white tight bars of the cage. Many cages come with darker bars as it helps visibility (seeing in).
I would have to stick my hand in, ad when I do that they flit around. I will see what I can do.
