The finches are in a big cage. They need more nesting areas. I bought a wooden box with bird hole and perching bar. I put some of their eggs in there along with the finch's favorite mix The box is hanging pressed tight against the cage with the door open, of course so they can go in. But they do not go in!It has been almost a week. Should I wait longer? I may soon move the box inside, but space is limited inside.

Hmmm--don't know what help I can be on this problem. Wait a little longer?

Here is what I did.
I put the hooks in the other side (needed pliers), and hung the box INSIDE - a big hassle as many escaped, but most were easy to catch.
I left the top of the box (hinged) open, and there was food inside.
They have gone, some of them, in. The trick will be later when I close the top and if they go in the then dark hole. If so, I will try outside again. But not soon as I am not eager to catch them.
Well, catching them is not hard; finding them is. *shrugs*

I have left the top of the box open, and sometimes they sit in there, and on it. I will eventually close the top and see how it goes.
It is really hard to put it in there as I have to take off the top and finches do get loose. They are relatively easy to catch, but it is a pain.
