Let them eat caique! (To paraphrase Marie Antoinette). My friend and animal rescue confrere, Susan, is moving, so I get TONS of animal-related stuff, plus I got to visit her parrots which were being stashed for a few days at the pet store where she worked as a supervisor. Sam and Milo, two blackheaded caiques. Lovely birds. They were both friendly and I had them on my finger; I could pet them - but Milo did NOT want to get back in the cage. And he tried to hold on real tight to my fingers with his beak. I don't think he tried to bite me but it was bloody nonetheless. But Milo is fine.

That had to hurt! How did you finally get him in?

Didn't hurt that much. He WAS in--he just had to have me and a worker pry him off my hand!

lol Very true. But the thought balloon should have said "I am not going back in that stinking cage!!!!".
I saw them both again today. They are happy enough.

I have two little but clearly visible scars on my right hand - ring finger and pinkie. I told Susan she should have let Sam the other caique gnaw on my LEFT hand for symmetry!
