So, I am watching the old movie "Birdman of Alcatraz", and with all the birds chriping my birdies got very noisy! ;D
FYI - Robert Stroud, a double murderer, became a famous internationally known expert on birds and aviary diseases while in Leavenworth prison; he also had scores of birds there. When moved to the infamous Alcatraz prison he had to leave the birds behind, but there he helped stop a major prison riot.
His old cell there is a big tourist attraction in San Francisco Bay, as is the old prison.

Sounds familiar. I bet my parents have seen the movie before, I don't recall if I have though.

I saw that last night followed by another Burt Lancaster classic, "Elmer Gantry". I was busy the entire time cleaning a parakeet tank and a mouse Habitrail-mini. . . where sadly, the last of my colored fancy mice had died. I also lost two Spiny's this week. (I have to get the others to start breeding again). More on this in the Memorial forum, later. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Stroudmembers.aol.com/Toonsamples/birdman.html

I'm sorry about your mouse. May he/she rest in peace.

Thanks. All the really pretty colored fancy mice are gone. I posted photos of them in the Mouse forum, of course, last year.
