We have squirrels coming back into our area!! Okay here's the story, a fire broke out in our townhouse/apartment complex months ago, our area wasn't involved. But we found out later that the squirrels cut through the electrical wire causing the fire. Our complex tried to relocate them, but with no success. They then were sadly exterminated.
Well, today I figured I throw out some bread for the birds and we've seen squirrels near our area, but not in. Presto! There's a squirrel in our backyard right now eating the bread I threw out!! I'm so happy they're coming back, I've only seen him though so I'm calling him Uno. I hope he brings his pals on over!
Yes, the squirrels are back!!! ;D

Okaaay. . . but aren't they all just going to end up exterminated again? If that is the case maybe you shouldn't feed them.

Very true, my parents have said this to me. Maybe I'll write to the people in charge & ask them not to or do something. But I like feeding them. I'm hoping they can all come back. It was fun to play with them. And by that I mean they would run around the tree & I would follow them & then say, "Okay you win, but I can still see you." Well, only when I was going somewhere & would see one. I miss them though. *Hey off topic--I was looking at some breeders for hamsters & saw that people can breed a Fennec Fox. That's insane, leave it out in the wild. That must cost a ton! Have you've seen one before? I haven't, only on shows, but they are cute looking.*

In think it is sad as unless something is done about that previous problem, eventually all those squirrels will end up dead. I stopped hand feeding the squirrels in a large public park as it was safer for them to NOT be habituated to people. I made that sacrifice. Here's your fox. . .

Our squirrels aren't hand fed, they see humans & they scatter. Sometimes they will stay still, but most of the time they don't.
Very pretty, Fennec foxes are.

There are signs all over the park down the road (Beacon Hill) that request that we don't feed squirrels, ducks, birds, etc. I don't, but EVERYONE does. I like to capture pictures though. Still to come, DF. I need more time off on nice days

The problem in NJ and parts of NY are the big Canadian geese. They can make a mess, be aggressive, and won't want to leave if fed. I guess dogs are the best solution to chase them off.

Geese are fine here as long as you leave them alone. It's the swans..they're mean! We had one chase Josh & one stared some of us down at the old walk we did for the MS Walk. But I figured all of us were in its territory.

Hisssssssss. I think that is the sound they both make when mad. Like a snake.
I had heard the geese were all over golf courses and the like in NJ making a big mess.

Yes, we get Canada geese around here all the time, being that Victoria is a warmer part of Canada. They LOVE to hang out on the golf courses. So I think they've started using Border Collies to chase them away. It was on the news. Pretty funny.

I heard about that Meghan. I saw on Animal Planet one time that they got Border Collies to chase away the geese & ducks from the runways. I wouldn't know about the golf coures, DF, as I don't like the sport. Josh would know. I don't remember it hissing, but I do remember it lowered its neck and swam right towards Josh. My dumb brother needless to say stood his ground & left at the very last moment although Mom, Dad, & I were telling him to move! He's so stupid sometimes...Josh. Anyone want him? How about it Meghan? Want a brother? Lol...

I don't know if you would want my brother. He is almost no fun. He plays video games, works, and sleeps all the time. But if I gave him to you, I guess he would come packaged with my neice and nephew too. They're fun.

;D Sure, I'll try him...them. Josh is fun too. He likes sports & talking to people, but sometimes he can be a pain. Hey we really love our brothers though, right!?
