Only $40 as she is not that tame. But I will work on that.
Photos later.
Anyone with wise advice about cockatiels?

Aww, did you rescue her? I hope she is fine with your critters as I heard some birds attack rodents. Have you've named her yet?

She can't get in with the rodents. Have not named her. Suggestions? Not exactly a rescue, but the pet store wanted her gone.

Oh she's so pretty!! I'm jealous. Cockatiels are fun! Hopefully you can tame her within no time. Names... hmmm... always tough. How about Heather? It rhymes with feather.

Wings are clipped.
There were four, and she was the least tame. A few others hopped on my finger. Heather runs away. The others went for $75 - still a good price. But $40 is a bargain. Will try to tame her. Another photo later, wioth more toys in the cage.
Photographic note: the flash made her too light, so I held something directly behind the cage so the flash and shutter would not overexpose her. It worked, and she came out fine. Just a trick for those taking flash - background matters.

Ooooh. I'm so happy you liked my name suggestion. I hope she can be tamed! I think so, with lots of love and attention.

I hesitate to bring Heather into the bedroom as she will surely wake me up in the morning as it gets light with singing, although when she does sing I like it. But it would wake me. Everyone says she can be tamed with time. Some of her siblings climbed on my finger at the pet store.

I think so too. She is just probably a little shy and nervous. Especially at the pet store where there's lots of people looking at her. I bet she will calm right down. Especially with treats.

My friends cockatiel was obsessed with metal, she would stare and get all excited if you whistled to her and turned a spoon at her and she would play for hours in a coffee can. They are easily my favorite birds. Good luck with her she is beautiful!

Any advice on taming?
BTW, the people who had the cage before me hung a couple of toothbrushes inside as toys! Odd?

I am not familiar with birds but I know they hand feed baby ones to get them used to humans, perhaps daily treats out of your hand in her cage (as long as she is not cage aggressive) until she feels more comfortable with you would help break the ice?
