And then comes the hard part. The actual decision making. I hate that part.

>>Hope your parents can find it in theirs to say yes.<< Me too! Still can't decided if I should go with a guinea pig or a rabbit. If my parents make the choice one way or the other, then I'll go with that, but if they say yes to both (both being one or the other) then I will have to choose. My local shelter only has guineas and rabbits that I know of. I should really try to stop down there so I can see if they have others. I like to go with the least likely to get adopted, yet still within my ability to look after.

>>You can make a thread on that in the animal rescues forum, also<< I wasn't sure if it should be here or in the rescues, but I put it here because I hear about it in a newsletter and it was in the newspaper, therefore I posted in the news forum. You can move it if you wish.
So far the parentals have said no to the addition, but that's what they said before I got the hamsters and the second dog. Dad says he doesn't want to have another mouth to feed. Lucky for him, he doesn't have to clean it up, feed it, pay for it, etc. Depending on what it is he may or may not be conned into building it a cage...

So my next question is how do I go about deciding which breed I want and then getting that particular breed?

www.spca.bc.ca/AdoptionChallenge/I think it's really cool that they are finding good homes for these animals. I'm working on convincing my parents to let me bring one home.

Okay, so I think I get this...
Chinese are a separate type of hamster from a Syrian or a Dwarf. Campbells (is it Campbells or Campbelli's?) are a breed of dwarf. And Winter Whites and Robos are breeds of dwarf as well?

Why would they give them back to the owner if the owner is obviously incapable of controlling it? Maybe a little training would be a better option than a jail cell?

Wow... that sounds difficult. I'll leave that one to the experts!

>>Meeks--always great when a timid animal starts to trust you!<< I know... it makes me feel like I've accomplished something.
How did you manage the nail cutting? That sounds like quite the feat...

Well, Tucker has been having less accidents now. The only ones he's had lately are right in front of the door to go outside. So he knows where he's supposed to go and that he's not allowed to go in the house. His neutering is happening next weekend. (finally)
Meeks has pretty big pompoms, however I don't think they can beat Zeb. Darko's are hidden under all his hair!

>>Very very very few "pet stores" are like that; I would not even call it a "pet store".<< I know. He's also very selective with his staff (I'm hoping that when their current "rodent/lizard girl" goes on maternity leave he will fill the position with ME!) It's nice to be able to go in and see animals that are properly looked after and cared for, and know that they will go to a good home. If they don't, he takes them back and has them in the store. Darko was a ham that was brought back.
Thanks in advance for the information! <3
