Jerboas are not extinct. >>Two species are considered threatened: the Five-toed Pygmy Jerboa (classed 'VU' vulnerable), the Thick-tailed Pygmy Jerboa (classed 'VU' vulnerable). A rare species only recently captured on film in the deserts of Mongolia and China, the Long-eared Jerboa (classed 'LC' least concern [2]) is no longer believed to be threatened. Many other species have been placed in a "lower risk" category, and one species (Thomas's Pygmy Jerboa) lacks the data for assessment.<< >># Subfamily Euchoreutinae * Euchoreutes o Long-eared Jerboa, Euchoreutes naso # Subfamily Allactaginae * Allactaga o Balikun Jerboa, Allactaga balikunica o Gobi Jerboa, Allactaga bullata o Small Five-toed Jerboa, Allactaga elater o Euphrates Jerboa, Allactaga euphratica o Iranian Jerboa, Allactaga firouzi o Hotson's Jerboa, Allactaga hotsoni o Great Jerboa, Allactaga major o Severtzov's Jerboa, Allactaga severtzovi o Mongolian Five-toed Jerboa, Allactaga sibirica o Four-toed Jerboa, Allactaga tetradactyla o Vinogradov's Jerboa, Allactaga vinogradovi o Bobrinski's Jerboa, Allactodipus bobrinskii * Pygeretmus o Lesser Fat-tailed Jerboa, Pygeretmus platyurus o Dwarf Fat-tailed Jerboa, Pygeretmus pumilo o Greater Fat-tailed Jerboa, Pygeretmus shitkovi << Wiki Searching for where someone MIGHT be able to buy jerboas is a big task I have no time for right now. >>the mother always has to have a C section.<< Eww. >>a Coton club.<< Cotton Club>>The Griffon Nivernais was a breed kept by French noblemen which disappeared after the French Revolution. The breed was reconstructed beginning in 1925, by some hunters in Morvan, modeling on the ancient types that came to Europe with the Crusaders and the type called "Canes Segusii" or the Celtic Hound by early dog writers. . . << Interesting history, and interesting look!

I started this discussion last night on the Michael Vick issue, and the question of Pit Bulls. It turned into a very long and heated thread, and well worth checking out. Please do. Of course, you need Facebook. LINK HEREBut this what was I started the thread with. . . >>Bob Costas was just on NBC praising Michael Vick saying it is "HIS RIGHT" to come back and play. HEY ASSHOLE APOLOGIST for sadists. NO FELON HAS A RIGHT TO THEIR JOB AFTER GOING TO PRISON. He has NO RIGHT to ANY job, Costas, you stupid fool. He has a right to walk out of prison, where he should have stayed another ten years. That is the only "right" he has.<<

Someone may, but I have not tried to look for a long time. You can try a Search, and let us know.
More unusual rodents only show at very rarely in the stores I know. Never a jerboa, jird, or duprassi.

Interesting. I never see them on real grass. No chance they can run away?

Always look for rescue groups. Petfinder.com is a good resource. Rimu, the Syrian, sleeping (as usual) in a 20 gallon tank six feet away, was more of a rescue--the pet store sold a pregnant female, and I helped out two youngsters who were brought back. Totara died this Summer during the heat. See the Memorial forum from early July. I once got two pregnant female rats (so it turned out), Moet and Chandon, as they were champagne color, and I kept all the adorable babies. See the Rat forum for photos. They are all in the Memorial Gallery in my sig now.
