She is sending me photos. The last thing Puma did was eat a foot long Subway. The owner's adult son started eating at one end and they met in the middle. Puma went happy.

Even if not, I made a point to tell them they did a good thing, for whatever reason. Let's them know what is right.

Semi-official when they are in Brooklyn. Most of the district is in Staten Island.

You should have contacted Animal Planet, by e-mail and phone. What they said I cannot comment on as you did not say, other than the stupidity of implying if a breed is not AKC registered it does not count! - - - - - - >>This dog-related article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.<< Why don't you expand it?? He does remind me of Whizz? Tell Andrea in a PM to take a look. I am surprised they are not furrier in the Himalayan snow. >>They are similar in appearance to the Newfoundland (dog) and the Tibetan Mastiff. << Not by THAT photo. Are you sure that is the right photo??

Puma was a mixed breed dog of medium size and dark fur. I forget the breeds but will ask when I see the owner. Oddly, as she got older her face got whiter and whiter, and her furry sort of curly and lighter brown. She was sweet, and loved. She was always so good at holding her pee until she got outside, and then out came a flood! Sometimes she would have to be taken outside again to finish. She walked very slowly but had no arthritis I knew of. I saw the owner with a small god I had never seen before last night and I asked how she got along with Puma. "We had to put Puma to sleep last month; she was 16". I will write her and see if I can get a photo. Bummer.

So, you know I had problems in the heat of the Summer. (See the Memorial thread from July). I went into one of the pet stores to get some supplies, and see about the rats. They had only two, white. and more tame than I expected. I have them behind me now. Not named yet. BUT. . . the good news is the store, finally, after many complaints, will NOT carry any more rats, which are there mostly NOT as pets. This is likely a matter of space, rather than a humane issue. But maybe a little of the latter, as I had complained, as all should in such a situation. I got the last two! And I am pleased there will be no more there. The two new ones are juvies, not full grown, and are exploring their temporary digs in a big multi-level cage where I used to keep three spiny mice. The one survivor of that trio is in a tank now. I am not 100% sure of the gender. So they stay separate. I have no time to check into this right now. As they get older it will be easy to tell. That pet store used to be twice as big, but economic times necessitated cutting it down the middle and now that half is a different store. As a result, a number of things have been eliminated including some huge fish tanks--100 gallons or more! I also shmoozed with a worker there I know. Good guy. I feel very good there will be no more rats there!

The candidate, Michael Grimm, in the other thread I just put up the next day went to the Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY, Street Fair - a huge event. Other candidates were also there. I got some great photos, some of my best work ever, as I captured the enthusiasm and spontaneity of the campaign, abd the peoples' reactions. The other candidates are Nicole Malliotakis (for State Assembly), Martin J. Golden (State Senate), and Joe DioGuardi (U.S. Senate). You can find them all on Facebook or the Web. There are dozens on the link below. LINK RIGHT HERE!

Why don't they?
When I was at the last AKC the Bichon guy described significant differences (to him) between Bichons and Cotons.
Gotta get Meet the Breeds tickets asap!!!
Will check those links and comment a little later.
"The Cotton Club" was also a movie. The song, "Putting on the Ritz" was originally about that place: "where Harlem sits, putting on the Ritz!".
