I second that. Heaven is supposed to be the most beautiful, peaceful place ever, and I can't imagine our beloved babies not being there. We won't know til or if we get there. But I can still see you sitting on a cloud surrounded by all of your babies, crying tears of joy. The Alien series is my favorite ( part 1,2 &3 ) after that, I think the storyline was lacking.

Miaka seems like a little bugger. Not only did your leather couch get into, but all of you lost your buzz. Buzz kill Miaka. Thats a cute story!

Oh boy Tom , you have opened up a can of wiggly ones with this Question. I am here to give you my opinion like you asked and will do my best not to stray from the topic. This may be long, i don't know, please bear with me. My belief is that if you are an innocent you get a free pass. Innocent meaning animals and infants. Any living, breating creatures I believe were given the gift of a soul. We all have heard the story of why Jesus died on the cross, but yet humans take that for granted on a continuous basis, and I know whether a believer or not EVERYONE has heard it. Animals don't do that! They don't have sin. If they are a" bad animal" the owner need to take into account the behavior that they taught that animal. They don't mess each other over for drugs and money. They don't carry weapons. I deeply believe that when we do get to heaven our animals will be waiting for us. I am doing more staring at the screen that I am typing because my brain is on overload, so I will stop now. Good topic, will talk more on it later if it's alright with you. Free pass Tom, free pass. The character Ripley from the movie Alien 2 said it best when refering to the aliens as animals compared to the actions of humans. " At least they (aliens) are not f*****g each other over for a percentage!" This is only MY personal belief, not trying to sway anyones belief.

The sandwich story is such a nice memorial to how much this dog was family.Rest in peace dear Puma! Please let the family know that they have prayers of peace of heart and mind coming from Pa. And condolences to you too Tom, as you seemed to have cared for Puma much. Not making light of a sad subject, but if you need a little smile ( I hope ) read your third paragraph carefully. Please don't be upset, just hopeing it will take the edge off. Once again, Rest In Peace Puma!

Wow! I know men react to things differently than women do, but were you scared at all. Her poor bum is really wedged in there bad. I know it is very funny in hindsite, but while it's happening it's caos. The thing I was worried about was Radars ribs and if he was breathing good. The picture of her looking at the camera ( you ) for help is priceless. she has an AAHHH OOHHH expression on her pretty little face. and the poor GP was probably wondering what the heck was going on. Nothing but a fuzzy butt to stare at! Thank you for sharing. P.S. I do look over old threads..but I didn't get that far back. There is a million things to check out on this cool forum.

This morning about 4:30am I looked like this and felt like this . Just to let everyone know the outcome is good. My hammie Radar has a plastic house with a removable roof. It also has a round window and a fairly big door. With the wheather getting colder Radar has been taking extra bedding to his house and kinda packing himself in there. Last night my chubby bugger decided to climb through the window instead of moving the bedding away from his door. HE GOT STUCK!!! I unscrewed the house taking him and bedding and whatever else that was in there over to the couch to unlatch the sides for easier access. With all that done I tried to easily get him to squeeze out one way or the other and it wasn't going to happen. The only resort was to cut the window of this house, and every tool was used with no success. By this time he was stressed and yelling and biting. My partner dissappeared and returned with a hacksaw. I said "absolutely not, are you kidding". He was either going to remain stuck or we were going to try this, just extremely careful. I put a thick glove on my right hand so I could control his upper body with losing too much blood from him biting, and took my left hand with no glove and squeezed two fingers in between Radar and the window, and the cutting began. I didn't give a care if I got cut as long as my Radar was free. It took a couple of minutes because we kept making sure where the blade was at all times, and in a flash it broke through and I pulled him out. If it wasn't for my partners quick thinking and determination, Radar might not be here right now. He is doing fine. At first I wasn't so sure because he just layed there in my hands catching his breath and I know he had some shock. I didn't put him back in his cage until he started acting like himself. I'm still keeping a watchful eye on him, not taking for granted that he appears fine. One thing I can say for sure is he'll never get stuck in that window again. I don't want another scary experience like that again, and especially neither does Radar.

These photos are very, very Powerful! What a slap in the face to all Americans to put a mosque there. I can't imagine the stupidest person in the world not realizing its a cruel, sick idea. Did you live in NY at the time of 9/11 ? If it's too personal don't answer, and I apologize for bringing up such a horrific memory.

You are a terrific photographer. You should be working for a newspaper, but I think I told you that before. You were right when you said you were busy.

This is a beautiful tribute, and you are very lucky to have captured on film all of those beautiful babies. I can't say I have many pics show on the computer because alot of them were taken with a polariod camera ( probably before your time ). I can't wait to see more photos to come. Andrea, it was probably hard for you to relive all these memories, but you do have a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing. P.S. I love all the babies names. Very unique.

Did a little homework and found out that Pigmy Jerboa are CONSIDERED extinct because there are so few. Duprasis aren't available due to an Importation Ban in the U.S. on African Rodents in 2001. Jirds aren't found because most breeding in U.S. have stopped. Finding unrelated breedingstock was nearly impossible and far too expensive for the breeders to continue. Well, atleast we have pictures and videos.
