Persistant little buggers aren't they? Wonder what people think seeing a spray painted tail.

I have this beautiful beta fish named Flair. He was named that because of the way he shows off his beautiful fins. Every other day he gets fed. I will sit at the computer desk and he will know what day it is, and he will puff his fins out and wiggle back and forth real fast as if to say "look at me". I get a pinch of food between my fingers and he gets real wiggly and excited. The minute my finger are over the water he will sit and beg for the food. He even begs when I'm sitting at the desk with my food. He will come to the side of the bowl to see what i'm eating. That is why I call Flair my beta puppy. I wonder if he'll play fetch? ;D

You go mama squirrel!!! A mama will do whatever it takes to protect her baby. I do feel a little bad for the dog. His world just got turned upside down by a little squirrel. Mess with the baby, you get the wrath!!!!

The Beagle that I had not long ago was a purebred. His daddy was a champion show dog and made it on the cover of Hunters and Hounds magazine. Cody was born the runt of the litter and wasn't show quality. I miss my Beagle Boy soooo much! I have to memorialize him soon and post pics of him and Rhythm.

I have a squirrel story to share. Back when Princess Diana died I got real sick with bronchitis and part depression. A friend of mine told me a cool thing to do for some relaxation would be to try and feed the squirrels. I had some peanuts and went in my back yard because they would always walk on the telephone wires back there. I sat on a blanket and started making that little clicking sound with my tongue. It didn't seem long before a little head popped up over the hillside. He came halfway up the yard and I gently tossed the peanut his way. After a few times he started coming closer with every peanut until I had this little one sitting on my leg and holding my fingers while taking the peanut. I was on top of the world. This went on for about a week. At one point I had two squirrels taking peanuts, they would bury most, but every once in a while they would stop to nibble. It all came to an abrupt stop when a different colored clan got wind of the food. They had a gray coloring. They tried to bully my babies and eventually succeeded. It was great while it lasted. I really got attached to them, and they are so sweet and cute. It's a good memory that I play often in my mind. Thanks for the opportunity to talk about it.

I'm very sorry to hear the bad news Diane. If being sick wasn't enough for you to deal with now you have this worry. I'll be saying prayers for Spot.Do you think he will need to see the vet? What is the cause for this, sibling rivalry? Please excuse me if I sound like a dummy, but I've never heard of this until today. Do hammies do this too? Please take care of yourself and Spot , and give Little Bear a rub on the head. Thank God they weren't alone when it happened. Love and well wishes all around.

Hi Katie. I'm glad you can picture it now. Radars cage is built goofy. I don't want any hard feelings between members over this, it would break my heart and Radars too. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but bottom line is I told my story, Radar is fine, we all have misunderstandings and I care for you all and want nothing but peace between my new family members. I luv you all for being concerned with this situation.

I noticed the faces on your post. Are you feeling that way because you want to keep them or are you worried for them once they are free? You did a good thing just capturing them, better than the fate of a glue or mouse trap. When they run free in the park it won't take them long at all to find safety. Billy the exterminator says rodents can be freed from a sticky trap if you pour veggie oil over it. You guys probably already knew that though.

I know Tom, these little hammies can be the best acrobats. Both of my Syrians climb their cage like little monkeys. There is a pair of steps in their cage and most of the time they climb up the side.
Andrea, I owe you a big, tall coconut rum mixed drink served by Eeyore himself! : )

I'm sorry, I can see how I confused you. Radar has a three level cage, and on the top floor is a little plastic house that screws onto the bars. It's removable. The little plastic house is totally encased in the cage itself. The house has a door, a window, and a removable roof. When we cut the window we also removed the roof to prevent any problems. So he is still safely in the main cage, but the little plastic house has been changed. Instead of climbing over the top of the house where the roof used to be, he still chooses to exit through his door. I hope I cleared this up for you. Believe me Katie , if my hammie had way of getting loose I would flip out.

The pictures are beautiful as usual and it looks like it was so much fun!! Brings back alot of heart tugging memories for me when my mom took me to Atlantic City twice. In the day time we would bake ourselves in the sun, play in the ocean and collect seashells. At night we would go have a quiet dinner together, then we would pick a casino to go to and stop in every store on the way to it. I was in my late teens but if I pulled my hair up, wore some make-up and walked confidently they would let me go right through with my mom. HeHe! Thanks for the pics Tom, and the memories that they brought up.

Well, if little Mr. Chubby Butt would have used the door he would have been fine. He blocked the door with his bedding, and instead of moving it he tried to squeeze out of an itty bitty window. We put the house back in without the roof, but what is so funny is he still chooses to use the door instead of climbing out of the gaping hole above him.

It's so weird you brought Mary and Charlie up in conversation today. I was just re-reading those exact threads this morning. Mary and Jerry are waiting patiently for Charlie to join them someday. Until then he has a great pair of guardian angels.

There was a little plastic house that screwed onto the bars of his cage. The plastic house is what was cut. We put the house back in his cage because he loves it so much, we kept the roof off .
