I think, before you start breeding, you should think about the amount of money it's going to cost you... What If the mom dies and the babies have to be hand raised? Can you do that? And what if the mom needs surgery, can you pay the vet bills? And what if you can't find every baby a new home, can they stay with you and have their own cage? I don't think your age has anything to do with responsebility, I'm 'only' 17 and I pay everything myself. At the moment I am 'owned' by 9 rats, 8 syrian hamsters, 1 bunny, 2 mice, 1 Bird and a dog...So that's allot of food, bedding, toys and Unexpected costs... *I'm sorry for the bad spelling, I'm in a hurry....I have to clean out some cages and after that I want to see Ocean's Eleven on TV *

Yeah, I already waited a few hours and she was curled up in the same pose, I didn't feel or saw her chest move, she didn't move when I picked her up and she didn't bite me, as she does normally when I pick her up. But I'm not the first one, and won't be the last one fooled by her hamster.. I posted the same thread one a few other sites and I got 4 reply-messages saying It happend to them too...and very weird: always with Syrian. But next time I will get a second opinion

Oh my god, It's unbelievable! I buried Tempest Storm....ALIVE! I thought she had died, I was pretty sure because I didn't feel her breathe. So I buried her 2 days ago, and went to my mother for the weekend. So my dad called yesterday to ask me was color Tempie was..Well she's a RE Creme banded. So I asked my dad why he needed to know that..He said: The neighbors found a hamster and they came to us because they know you have allot of animals including a few hamsters. Well my dad asked her what color the hamster was, she said it was a brown one...So I didn't think it was Tempie. My dad asked me if she could borrow one of my empty cages..well off course she could, So she went home to pick up the hamster and at the same moment she came back my older sister came home from work. Angelique(sister) looked very estranged at the hamster and said to my dad: I thought Angie told me Tempie was death, I even saw her bury her... OH OH! So it was my girl....Very stupid of me. But I'm happy she is still alive and well, she had to cross a busy road to get to the house of the neighbors, and there are allot of cats in the neighborhood we're in....

Noor was very jumpy in the beginning she would jump of my hand every time I picked her up, and now she's such a darling. She walks right on my hand when it's in her cage and since last week she likes giving kisses . I hope Yuiko will act the same!

I think you should take the animal you like, Maybe your mother will change her mind again and then you'll have a couple of gerbils instead of a beautiful Syrian hamster. And your dad shouldn't be mad! My mom would be happy when I did something like that, I always take an animal home before make sure a cage is ready My mom didn't want me to get rats, she told me she hated them and couldn't stand seeing those dirty beasts...She wanted me to take 2 dwarf hamsters, I'm glad I did get rats. I think dwarf hamsters are boring, so I would have lost my interest in a month, and my mom isn't that into small rodents. She likes them when someone else takes care of them By now my mom adores the rats, especially Laviv&Asher She even calls Laviv her baby ;D So you see, Everything ends well..I hope your mother will act like mine, and if she doesn't; ask her what stops her to take a gerbil herself

I love Orphans of the storm and Way down east. Both with Lilian Gish I believe, and produced by the same man that produced Intolerance. Napoleon is a beautiful movie, and Intolerance is believed to be (one of) the best Silents there is. The Alster case is also one of my favorites

I love old black&white/Silent movies Even my grandparents didn't know who Rudolph Valentino was! And Humphrey Bogart was someone they only knew from Casablanca(My other male hams is named after him) After I told one of my friends I had a new hamster named Valé, the first thing she said was: Aah, you called this one after Valentino Rossi! ;D Valé is a Syrian, but over here it isn't that hard to find good homes. And if there are a few left they can stay here, I have allot of Empty cages/Tanks so they all can have their own.

Be patience, It took one of my boys over 3 months to figure out how to use a wheel. And please take notice of the fact that almost everyone on this board is either American or Canadian, so it can take a while before you get an answer because they have to sleep and work too
